Face-to-Face Activities

Online school ≠ being isolated.

Mountain Heights Academy wants all of its students to thrive in every aspect of their lives, which is why we provide optional weekly, monthly and annual opportunities for in-person socialization like the following:

“I am currently a student leader for Girl Talk, a member of Hope Squad, and an Officer for National Honors Society. I also got to attend Girls State last summer. This spring I will also get to go to Washington DC with other selected students. I love how MHA has options for students to get involved and interact. Mountain Heights Academy allows students to do more than look at computers all day while doing homework, we support each other.”

~ Courtnie M, 2025 graduate

Service-learning activities: Students enjoy giving back to their communities by serving meals at The Road Home, doing history projects for veterans, making treat bags for Juvenile Justice and Youth Services, tying fleece blankets for animal shelters and volunteering at elementary schools on national “Read a Book Day” — just to name a few! Additionally, we’re one of the six schools that are currently participating in Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson’s service-learning pilot program. To date, Mountain Heights has performed more than 127,400 hours of service.

School field trips
Students gather for learning opportunities (and fun) at places like the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium, Tracy Aviary, The Leonardo, Topaz Internment Camp, Lagoon and Capitol Reef National Park.

School activities
Some of Mountain Heights’ most popular annual activities include orientation, the annual back-to-school carnival, formal dances (including prom!), recognition night, spirit week activities and an end-of-year Graduation Ceremony for seniors.
