1:1 Teacher Interaction

"One of my boys, Toa, was really stressed about a math test he needed to complete. He reached out to his teacher after-hours, and she immediately made herself available to help him. That support made a big difference in his test scores and I’ve seen other teachers step up for our four boys in similar ways many times. My boys travel frequently for competitive golf, and their teachers and counselors have always been incredibly encouraging and accommodating of their passion."

In a traditional middle or high school setting, teachers teach the same content to multiple groups of students each day. The speed at which they cover the materials is based on the time between bells. But at Mountain Heights Academy, the learning environment lives online and is accessible 24/7. The result? Teachers spend the majority of their time personalizing education to individual students based on their needs.

This fundamental restructuring of the typical school day allows students to receive regular one-on-one interaction with teachers through video call or real-time messaging via Google Chat.

Additionally, parents can stay informed of student progress through:

  • Parent-teacher conferences via video or phone.
  • Weekly progress reports including grades, time spent in each course and engagement with material.
  • Online access to the Mountain Heights portal to see students’ curriculum, progress and assignments, with the same depth and detail that a student sees.
  • Easy access to teachers via email, call or text.
  • Quarterly report cards.
